Kadyrov offered to indicate the nationality of all criminals

If society opposes the ban on mentioning the nationalities of criminals in the media, then you need to go to the other extreme – mentioning the nationality in each case, Kadyrov believes

Ramzan Kadyrov

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, criticized public figures and politicians who opposed the bill proposed by the Chechen parliament, which proposes to prohibit the media from naming the nationality of criminals. He suggested as an alternative to voice the nationality of the offenders in every crime.

“Okay, if you think that the nationality of the offender should be indicated, I’m only FOR! For example, in the nine months of this year, more than one and a half million crimes were committed in Russia, of which the absolute majority & mdash; not Caucasians. Thousands of crimes all over Russia almost every day: rape, harassment of minors, murders, robberies, thefts, thefts, robberies, beatings, cannibalism and others. How many times have journalists supporting freedom of speech indicated the criminal's nationality, religion, place of birth or residence? '' & Mdash; he wrote in his Telegram channel.

He called calls for free speech “ ostentatious '' and said that they sound, “ only if Caucasians are involved in the case: Chechens, Ingush, Dagestanis. '' “ If everyone unanimously believes that it is necessary to name the nationality, let's honestly, without excuses or excuses, name EVERY CRIMINAL (. Show in this case your notorious freedom of speech … From tomorrow, name everyone “ Russian, Bashkir, Cossack, Tatar, Jew , Udmurt, Buryat, Yakut … & mdash; ALL without exception! At the same time we will find out who breaks the law the most, & mdash; said Kadyrov (the author's spelling is preserved. & mdash; RBK ).

The head of Chechnya believes that the critics of the bill “ received commands from their curators, '' and announced the existence of a certain 'puppeteer' in this topic.

In early November, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, and RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan argued over whether the nationality of the suspects should be indicated. The reason was the incident in New Moscow. The conflict took place between a man who was with a child at that moment and a group of four natives of the Transcaucasus. The latter were detained and charged with attempted murder committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy.

In the course of the dispute, Kadyrov, in particular, said that the media deliberately focus on the nationality of the suspects when they are Caucasians, while in other cases the nationality is omitted.

“ School killings, large corruption schemes, high treason and other high-profile crimes & mdash; let's call here nationality, or at least “ person of Slavic nationality '', “ native of Moscow ''. Pleasantly? But it will be fair and honest in relation to all peoples '', & mdash; he wrote in his Telegram.

Simonyan defended a different point of view. “ As for the question, it is necessary or not to mention where the next detainee is from. Once I myself thought that this should not be done. I, too, as a “ person of Caucasian nationality '', was offended and outraged by such references. But with age, it became obvious to me that, while hushing up publicly those things that people are now talking about in Whatsapp chats, and before – & mdash; in kitchens, we do not solve the problem, but exacerbate it & raquo;, & mdash; she explained.

Some time after that, the Chechen parliament developed a bill that prohibits the media from mentioning the nationality of criminals. The authors of the bill called for the dissemination of this information to be regarded “ as an insult to the national and religious feelings of honest, respectable citizens, true believers who have nothing to do with criminal activity. '' On November 22, the bill was submitted to the State Duma.
