According to the expert, Kyiv will be placed on debt obligations to Washington

“The United States gives what it wants, in the quality it wants, on credit. In order for the state to pay later, as a rule, either by returning these products that were not used, or by money,” the interlocutor of the publication shared his point of view, noting that this was the first such decision that was made after the Second World War.< /p>

The expert recalled that the USSR, until 1990, was paying for Lend-Lease, which it received until 1945. In his opinion, Ukraine will be addicted to debt obligations to the United States, which it will pay for a long time. The specialist suggested that we are talking about tens of billions of dollars. It is one thing, as Podberezkin explained, when Washington allocates 4-5 billion in gratuitous aid, stretched out over two years, and another thing is lending.

“We don't know the exact conditions, but they may not free credit money,” he said.

According to the MGIMO professor, Americans generally never give loans for free. As an example, he cited the situation that was observed in the 90s, when Russia was placed on very unfavorable US loans, both in terms of interest rates and conditions, including political ones.

In the current situation, loans can record everything, Podberezkin stressed, adding that the Americans will increase the supply of offensive weapons.

“Now we are talking about high-precision weapons, long-range multiple launch rocket systems. At a minimum, this is already becoming known, and then there may be tactical missiles and much more,” he concluded.

Earlier it became known that the US House of Representatives approved a draft law on the supply of weapons to Ukraine through lisa. Prior to this, the document, the purpose of which is to simplify the provision of military assistance to Kyiv, has already been approved by the Senate of Congress. Now the bill will go to the signature of the President of the United States, Joseph Biden.
