Kovitidi clarified that the blow fell on the & laquo platform; Chernomorneftegaz & raquo;, located at the Odessa deposit 71 km from Odessa. The BK-1 platform suffered the most, there were no victims on the BK-2 and BK-3 platforms— They only & laquo; cut off the tops & raquo; drilling rigs. In March 2014, the Crimean authorities nationalized the property of the Ukrainian state-owned companies Chornomorneftegaz. and “Ukrtransgaz”, creating republican enterprises on their basis. The head of the Supreme Council of the Republic, Vladimir Konstantinov, then stated that the Crimean authorities took under protection the oil and gas fields in the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the gas and oil platforms of Chornomorneftegaz.
In mid-December 2015, Chernomorneftegaz moved two drilling rigs B-312 “Peter Godovanets” into the territorial waters of Russia; and B-319 “Ukraine”, which were then in the Ukrainian Odessa gas field. Rearrangement of drilling rigs of Chernomorneftegaz was associated with the risks of their arrest due to the lawsuit of Naftogaz of Ukraine. On December 23, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv seized the Pyotr Godovanets installations. and & laquo; Ukraine & raquo; at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine as part of a criminal case initiated in April 2014. The drilling rigs were bought back in 2011 with a loan that Naftogaz singled out Chernomorneftegaz, which at that time was its subsidiary. The companies began to sue over the return of funds even before the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
SUE “Chernomorneftegaz” engaged in the production, distribution and sale of gas in the Crimea. “Chernomorneftegaz” exploits hydrocarbon deposits on the shelf of the Black Sea and in the waters of the Sea of Azov and on the land territory of the republic. The company's drilling platforms are located near Zmeiny Island in the Black Sea.
In 2020, the company produced about 1 billion cubic meters. m of gas. In 2014, immediately after the annexation of Crimea to Russia,— 2 billion cubic meters. m.
The enterprise is managed by the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Crimea.
